“Black Light”

Black Light (Μαύρο φως)

Diptych, derived from the Greek words di meaning “two” and ptychē meaning “fold.”

Diptychs were commonly hinged together as a means of protecting the artwork encased within. In this case the artwork is the Black skin that comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. Having Black skin today can make you a target, physically, mentally, emotionally and should be protected. In this series I wanted to show how sometimes we must act a way that is presentable today in other’s eyes, on one side. On the next, we have how we really feel daily, sometimes disconnected from the world, and stuck in our thoughts. Our mind for some, is the place where darkness prevails or the only place, we can feel safe and where there’s some type of light.

 Black Light.
